NEW YORK – Jewelry sales at Doyle in all levels of value continue to surpass expectations, and the auction of Fine Jewelry & Important Jewelry on June 23 was no exception. With competitive bidding, the sale totaled $2,271,911, far above its collective estimate of $1,266,000-$1,831,900, with an exceptional 96% sold by lot and 100% by value.

NEW YORK – Christie’s Jewels Online sale, which took place May 31-June 10, totaled $3,502,674, with an 123% hammer above the low estimate and 97% sold by lot. The sale saw global participation with bidders from 32 countries, and first-time registrants accounted for 11% of bidders.

Thieves targeting jewelry attack TEFAF Maastricht fair
MAASTRICHT, The Netherlands – Thieves entered the TEFAF Maastricht venue and attempted to steal jewelry from an exhibitors’ stand by smashing a display case with a hammer. The fair was temporarily closed on the morning of June 28 to deal with the attack, but has now reopened.
