This series 1890 $20.00 Treasury Note, commonly referred to as a Coin Note, features a large portrait of former Secretary of State and 4th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Marshall.Currency Highlights:One of the most short-lived issues of U.S. paper money printed in the early 1890s.Housed in an inert mylar currency sleeve by PCGS Currency.Graded Very Fine-25 condition by PCGS Currency. Notated as having restorations, minor discoloration, and design redrawn on the back.Signatures: Rosecrans/Nebeker - Friedberg #374.Face: Features the portrait of John Marshall, former Secretary of State (1800-1801) and 4th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (served 1801-1835).Back: Displays the obligation language at right with the denomination in multiple places and styles.These notes are very collectible due to their brief issue and low numbers printed. Add this 1890 $20.00 Treasury NoteAlthough titled as Treasury Notes, the obligation boldly stating these could be redeemed “IN COIN” which led to them being referred to as Coin Notes.
