A CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN 'ENGLISH MARKET' ARMORIAL 'MISTAKE' PLATE
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911), CIRCA 1725
Finely painted in colored enamels and enriched in gilt, the center with the arms of Haldane between eagle supporters and above the motto SUFFER, all within a gilt and black border after a bookplate, the underglaze blue borders finely painted with bouquets of flowers
8 7/8 in. (22.6 cm.) diameter
