Description
A Chinese ink rubbing for a Chinese drum, dating from the Qing dynasty. On thin paper, a rubbing of a circular drum with Diameter of 19 1/4" (48.9 cm). Drum design features a central star form surrounded by 11 radiating rings, each having a different design pattern. Written on back: "Musee de LÉcole Francaise dÉxtreme Orient - Hanoi, D-6214-20" Rubbing of bronze drum, Chinese - Medieval.
H. 22 1/4" (56.5 cm), W. 22 3/4"(57.8 cm)
Provenance: Owned by Francis J. Caro, son of Frank Caro from Frank Caro Gallery,formerly owned by C.T Loo

Condition: Good condition overall for age and fragility of the paper. Creases in paper.
