Description
A Chinese Scroll Calligraphy Couplet Signed Zhang Xueliang 28 x 129cm x 2
These important paintings, calligraphy, ceramics and Four Treasures of the Study (Wenfang Sibao) provided by the grandson of Mr. Lee, whose grandfather was a former employee of Shanghai Yuanli Pawnshop. Some of these invaluable goods were Yuesheng Du's treasured possessions, which comes with the Pawn Tickets of 1932 as certification. These Pawn Tickets were signed by Yuesheng Du's wife, Ms. Yueying Shen. It is very likely that during that time, Yueying Shen developed an affair and was later found out by her husband Yuesheng Du. Therefore, Yueying Shen sold a lot of the art collection to get money to make her boyfriend leave. Later, Mr. Lee got a lot of precious art collection including the collection of Yuesheng Du when the Yuanli Pawnshop closed. He also ended up acquiring some of the Pawn Tickets of 1933
