A George III Style Mahogany Sideboard
18th/19th Century
Height 37 x width 60 x depth 24 1/4 inches.
Property from the Estate of Celestia B. Smithgall, Atlanta and Gainesville, Georgia
Condition
Sturdy and usable condition overall; the drawers open and close with some difficulty due to shrinkage. Older but probably not original finish; shinier top. Front with some areas of bubbling / cracked veneer. Age cracks along sides, back, and front drawers. The brasses are 19th century replacements. Several small sections of patched and missing veneer around the edges of the drawers, the upper right edge, and the right side. Label affixed to the back: "Batchelar & Son LTD / The Depository Croydon"
