This is a set of seven-piece Chinese vintage wooden panels that are put together to make it into a screen. Screens have been known to grace the rooms of wealthy Chinese homes since ancient times. In those ancient days, screens were an indispensable item of furniture in all households. They were used to section off a portion of the room to provide additional privacy for the users for dining, greeting guests, etc. These screens are often made into not only functional articles but are works of art too as with this 7-panel intricately carved and hand-painted wooden screen. These seven panels are not only a piece of Chinese history but also a work of art! Please note, each panel has two 8" x 17" art panels. When folded up the Divider is approx 10 3/4" x 10" x 65" and weighs 41lbs. The entire divider is approx 75 3/4" x 1 1/4" x 65". Please see the images as they are part of the description. Panels are in a good, vintage condition with wear and chips. The art panels are loose, but still fully attached.
