New England, 18th century, each with arched crest and three spindle back over rush and oak split seats, 41-1/4 x 19 x 14 in.
Provenance: Peggy and David Schorsch Antiques, Greenwich, Connecticut; Private Collection
Condition
one chair with two unexplained plugged holes at crest rail, typical foot wear at turned stretchers, some breaks to oak split seat, crack and old nail repairs at one front leg, minor losses at turnings, surface wear, old losses at back of one stile and one rear foot, other typical surface dust and mildew from storage; one with later color at finial tops (possible restoration)
