Description
Qing dynasty, of rectangular form with square lids, blue and white landscape decoration, geometric borders, 15-3/4 x 8-3/4 x 3-1/2 in.
Note: An unusually large pair of porcelain lidded jars. Canton ware had highly recognizable motifs of Asian tea houses, village scenes, bridges, streams, trees, mountains, and very few figures featured on the center of each blue/white porcelain piece. The more skillfully the motif is painted by the artist, the more interesting and valuable the piece is to collectors. Another thing to note is that Canton ware designs were painted.
Provenance: Private Collection, Colorado

surface dirt and accretion, some tape and tape residue, each with small edge chip at base; one with hairline crack through body (near rock formation), scattered pinholes
