Item Details
Description
A French Molded Plaster-Inset Giltwood Trumeau Mirror
19th Century
Height 84 x width 44 inches.
Condition
Sturdy, attractive condition overall. The mirror plate heavily worn with areas of lost silvering, but in an attractive pattern that gives patina to the mirror. The frame with small chips and areas of lost gilt exposing the gesso and wood, again, in a way that lends patina. The plaster tablet possibly not original and repaired from several large fragments at the left side, with areas of fill. Rubbing and loss to the surface decoration of the plaster.
