Item Details

Description

A KANGXI REVIVAL BLUE AND WHITE GINGER JAR, LATE QING DYNASTY
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century. Of baluster shape, painted in blue and white with a warrior on horseback and an immortal surrounded by craggy rockwork, water and a gnarly pine tree. The base and neck left unglazed.

Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1990 and has remained in the family ever since.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear and manufacturing flaws, such as dark spots, no lid.
