Zhang Zhengxue (1897-1986), courtesy name/style name Changbo, was born in Haining, Zhejiang. He's known as a professor of Law and a famous collector in Shanghai, China. His substantial and exclusive collection includes many stunning calligraphy and paintings. His collections of Jin Nong, a Qing Dynasty painter, is exhibited in the Forbidden City museum. He also maintained good connections with many famous Shanghai collectors including Wu Hufan, Zhang Congyu, Wang Jiqian, etc.
Wu Hufan (1894-1968), a well-known Chinese painting master, calligraphy and painting appraiser and collector. Both Wu Hufan and his wife Pan Jingshu were obsessed with collecting. They had nearly 2,000 pieces of extremely precious art and antiques.
