George Washington signed military document dated 1780 relating to committee of State & Army Hartford. George Washington (February 22, 1732 - December 14, 1799). Bold, Large signature in black ink. George Washington, a Founding Father of the United States, led the Continental Army to victory in the Revolutionary War and was Americas first president. As president, in a time when there were no term limits and many would have supported a lifetime role, Washington stepped down as president after the end of his second term setting an important precedent that lasted until the middle of the 20th century. This item has been authenticated by Autograph Certification Experts and comes with their Letter of Authenticity
