CHARLES CHARLIE BROWN FACE JUG (attr) ARDEN NC POTTERY
Item Details
Description
Charles Charlie Brown (b1949) took over the Arden Brown Pottery shop after his father Louis died. After he retired from the fire department and Robert his brother moved to Montana, Charles went back into the pottery business fulltime. He modernized the shop to start, and then Charlie continued making many of the traditional wares but also of course face jugs. This face jug is painted after it was bisqued which is pretty unique to Arden shop (some of their most famous face jugs are painted). Has china teeth. Not signed. Stands 7.75" tall.
