JD CRAVEN BROWERS MILLS SIGNED SALT GLAZE NC POTTERY JUG
Item Details
Description
Jacob Dorris (JD) Craven (b1827-d1895) Browers Mill, NC salt-glazed stoneware jug. Likely 2 G size. And the mark is very uniform and clear. Even though the shop was fairly profilic, this is very rare stamp along with Browers Mills. Signed JD CRAVEN jug with the Browers Mills NC stamp. The provenance marked on the base in marker is unique, but doesn't reveal very much (except an interesting story). Broken handle. Stands 14.25" tall.
Condition
Overall very good condition. The handle was broken off. And there a couple lower jug mouth lip glaze nicks/losses from wear. Few base base nicks. Call the gallery for full condition report, see all photos. All sales are final
