RUBY MEADERS POTTERY EARLY ALKALINE (2001) ROOSTER GA
Item Details
Description
Ruby Meaders (b1916-d2018), daughter of potters Cheever & Arie, was the last Meaders sibling of her generation when she passed away at age 101. She was also the only sister of Lanier, Nub (Edwin), John, and Reggie that also turned pots. This is one could describe as her 2nd generation style rooster/hen. The others from the first couple years she turned in 1998-99 are typically smaller mostly a reddish glaze. So this is very early example of the style of rooster she would embrace shortly thereafter. Ruby signed & dated 2001 on the rooster base. Stands 11.5" tall.
