Console with mirror, from the Ferdinand VII period. The console follows a typical typology of the period, with a frontal ogee cut-out, ball-shaped feet, and a combination of uprights carved in grooved designs based on organic movements and sepentate forms. The legs are made of ebony wood in the rounded shape of two swan's heads and support the main table of the console.
The mirror, rectangular in shape and sober, is supported on the sides in the form of golden branches and leaves.
The Fernandine style is the style developed in the decorative arts - especially furniture - in Spain during the reign of Ferdinand VII (1814-1833). It succeeded the Empire style and preceded the Elizabethan style.
