Nicholas G. Sergejev (Russian, 1876 – 1951) was Russian dancer and choreographer from Mariinsky Theater St. Petersburg. Emigrated in 1918 with choreography for 21 ballets and was instrumental in re-creating Russian ballets such as La Fille mal gardee, Giselle, Coppélia, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker. Worked in Riga Opera, then with Diaghilev, the Markova-Dolin, the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Sadler Wells Ballet and with the International Ballet. Signs of restoration, overpainting. New varnish and relining applied.
