RARE Boxed Lionel BRASS 390E Steam Loco
Item Details
Description
1st we have seen!! Standard Gauge. It was purchased by the consignor, at an Estate Auction in Westchester, NY, the weekend after 9-11-1991(He didnt recall which auction house it was). It was a single owner antiques sale, this was the onlytrain in it. We have seen other Lionel Presentation pieces made like this, we assume it is legitimate and correct. The boiler is polished brass, with red lettered cab plates. The Sand dome and pressure piping are copper with brass bandswith nickel plated expansion tank, brass running lights with nicely painted lenses. The frame, steam chests & boiler front appear to be Nickel plated die cast. All wheels are original and fatigued on a Bilda-Loco motor. The 390T tenderhas a brass plated top with nickel plated frame. Rest of railing trim is nickel plated on both. Brass plates are tight, with nice lettering, no signs of removal. It includes standard black lettered boxes with a 390E master carton. WOW!!
