Description
A Federal period carved and gilt girandole mirror. United States. Late 18th / early 19th century. Convex mirror surrounded by gilt neoclassical wooden frame with two rows of beading and outer band with acanthus leaves, detailed carved eagle at top, foliate groups at bottom and at sides with wood and metal candle holders. Frame: 39"h x 26 1/2"w x 9 1/2"d. Mirror: 17" diameter.
Condition: Some missing gilt, loosing carvings, breaks and cracks to dark rim around mirror and some loose beading.
