A highly carved provincial Transition style wedding armoire. French. 18th century. Carved oak with a high cornice having carved ribbons scrolls. Frieze with carved flowers in low relief and love birds on a quiver in high relief. With 2 blind panel doors carved with flowers, love birds, and fruit. Apron with central acanthus in high relief. Armoire rest on scroll and die feet with flowers on the knees. Interior professionally lined with modern brown and white upholstery on body, doors, and all 5 shelves. 83"h x 59"w x 24"d.
