Item Details
Description
Roseville Decorated Landscape jardiniere and pedestal, circa 1900, decorated by Harry Rhead, brother of Frederick Hurten Rhead who was most likely the designer of this line. Decoration on the two pieces consists of squeeze bag slip trailing, painting with heavy slip and sgraffito decoration where small sections are excised from the clay body. Unmarked save for the initials HR in heavy slip on both pieces. The set stands 41 7/8 inches tall making it the largest of the line and rather spectacular in decoration. There are three small nicks on the rim of the jard, a small nick to one of its handles and a small chip to the side. The pedestal seems to be in amazing condition. Very similar in style and condition to the set we sold in June of this year.
Condition
Minor chips to rim of jard and one handle
