Item Details
Description
Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Fruit Basket, the pattern introduced in 1904, New York, New York, of oval form with lobed rim, decorated with pierced and engraved gooseberries, the interior gilt, with swing handle en suite, the whole raised on four acanthus-crested pad feet, h. 6" (10-5/8" with handle), l. 13", w. 8-3/4", 26.02 t. oz.
Condition
In generally good condition with the expected signs of age: some wear to the gilding (particularly at the very bottom of the bowl), slight loss of detail to the engraving, scattered bumps and dings. No repairs or dents noted. A monogram appears to have been buffed out on the central cartouche of the handle but this has by any means thinned the metal. Marked (on the underside) "Tiffany & Co. / 16202 Makers 6048 / Sterling Silver / 925-1000 /m".
