Chippendale style, Walnut throughout with shell-carved crest and shaped back splat, shell-carved cabriole legs and ball-and-claw feet, period slip seat covered in needlepoint with bird motif, 18th century
Approx height 40", 21.5:", depth 17.5"
Label on bottom of the chair reads "Mrs. Orlando Crease Jr. 3915 Netherfield Road Philadelphia 29 PA
Condition
Structurally sound and in overall good condition. Finish appears to be original and age appears consistent throughout. Old repair to left front block support. Light scratches to finish, commensurate with both age and usage. No further signs of loss, damage, or repair.
