Description
A Superb Chinese Qing Dynasty Nephrite celadon jade censer covered with ornate inlaid gilt bronze details in addition to being carved in a traditional fangding squared body style. The Cuboid body is raised on four straight cylindrical legs, with two elongated U-Shaped handles emerging from the shorter sides. All the edges are lined with cloisonne inlaid gilt bronze molding, with intricate etching that accentuates the lustrous jade. A rectangular opening upholds the square domed lid and finial enclosure. The exterior is decorated in an archaistic relief with symmetrically congruent patterns. Nephrite stone displays pale-celadon tinge, clean white tone with beautiful luminous characteristics, and cream-white coloration. Expert workmanship is the absolute highlight of this stunning censer. Hardwood box is inscribed with gilt characters detailing the contents.
