Description
A Chinese bronze tripod incense burner dating from the 18th century. It stands upon 3 short ruyi legs, and has a 6-character mark on the bottom. The body is separated by 2 bands on top, 3 bands in the middle, and 2 bands at the bottom.
Dimensions are: 2 3/4 inches tall X 5 1/4 inches wide. The incense burner weighs 1 lb 9 ounces. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It is in good condition with minor age wear including oxidation.
Provenance: From the estate of Frederick C. McMillen. Mr. McMillen was sent to China by the US government after WWII to oversee rebuilding projects funded by UN grants. He worked closely with top Chinese Nationalist government officers in banking and finance sectors.
