A thangka depicting the Tibetan Buddhist teacher Tsongkhapa from the 18th century. Tsongkhapa is large and central, below him are two guardian deities in each corner. Gouache on fabric with decorative silk backing and borders. It has a simple frame.
Dimensions are: 17 inches tall X 13 7/8 inches wide. The frame is 37 1/4 inches tall X 24 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It has age wear. It would benefit from a new frame.
Provenance: From a Virginia collector.
