Item Details
Description
Chinese Ming Dynasty gilt bronze forged Fangding censer, decorated in cloisonne chinoiserie. A rectangular body supported by S-shaped legs flared handles, and gilt lid and egg-shaped finial. The focal image is of two Fu-dog holding an eternal-knot amongst cloud patterns. The legs and handles are adorned with a vibrant floral and vine assemblage. Intertwining dragons create the lid and finial arrangement which stand out as the crown jewel of this piece. Very sturdy construction with bright imagery laid upon a turquoise background.



Mark on base, a protruding six script -KaiShu- characters enclosed within rectangular border, Made in The Years of JingTai Reign Period of Great Ming.


Dimensions: 15-3/8" H x 14-3/4" W
Condition
Over all in EXCELLENT condition. Traced numerous tiny-holes of corrosions on enamel filling, No missing wires found on cloisonne works. With normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dents, and trace of declined on gilt; Normal, consider ages and wear.
