Set of Four American Sterling Silver Candlesticks
first quarter 20th century, by Shreve & Co., San Francisco, California, each with a slender baluster standard decorated with navette paterae and bellflower swag banding, with annular knops and thistle-form nozzle, with detachable everted bobeche and domed foot reticulated and decorated en suite with laurel-and-ribbon edging.
h. 15-1/4", base dia. 6"; weighted

Condition
One candlestick has a 1/2" crescent-shaped compression dent at the rim of one nozzle, generally
concealed by the large bobeche, which shows signs of professional repair at the socket connection.
Otherwise in quite good condition with no issues beyond the expected surface scuffs, dings and light wear
consistent with age. No monograms or removals. Each piece marked on the underside: "Shreve & Co. /
Sterling / San Francisco / Base Loaded".
