Description
Pair Chinese Han gilt bronze statues of a mythical beast Qilin. Generally have Chinese dragon-like features. Eyes with thick eyelashes, manes that flow slightly upward and beards. The body like an tiger, with robust four horn, slightly faced east, vigorous position on its four legs, its three branching tail freely laid on right hip. Displayed exquisitely upon a carved hardwood stand. Qilin are thought to be a symbol of luck, good omens, protection, prosperity, success, and longevity by the Chinese. Qilin are also a symbol of fertility, and often depicted in decorations as bringing a baby to a family.

Over all in EXCELLENT condition. Traced numerous tiny-holes of corrosions on enamel filling, No missing wires found on cloisonne works. With normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dents, and trace of declined on gilt; Normal, consider ages and wear.
