Description

A PAIR OF LARGE ITALIAN ROCOCO GILT AND FAUX MARBLE PAINTED ARCHITECTURAL FRAGMENTS, POSSIBLY VENETIAN/NEAPOLITAN, THIRD QUARTER 18TH CENTURY, each robustly carved as a stylized bracket of nicely painted faux rouge griotte marble "C" scrolls with long tapering leaf and cabochon details, centering a parcel gilt scrolling rocaille framed cartouche, raised on old associated cut wood blocks. Height: 55" Width: 10" Depth: 25 1/4" Provenance: Property of an Important Houston Antiques Dealer

Good condition for antique interior architectural remnants of this age, use and materials including but not limited to normal age cracks, flaking paint and gilding, losses, chips, surface buildup and later additions/reductions.
