Item Details

Description

Lancaster County, PA Amish Paint-Decorated Softwood Blanket Chest. Inscribed in pencil on back "Ezra Fisher". (1859-1910). Stenciled on front panel "N.K. 1888". Red ground with grain-painted drawers, molded lid, interior walnut till, dovetailed case, molded trim, two split molded dovetailed drawers, molded base and turned feet. For a similar example see "Amish Arts of Lancaster County" by Patricia T. Herr, item 299, page 141. 26-1/4"h. x 49"w. x 23-1/4"d. Condition: Good with wear and scrapes. Some loss to trim.
